Fall Market Fabric Preview

Now that Market has come and gone, we have some glimpses of what is in store for us fabric lovers this spring.

I am really looking forward to some beautiful new Art Gallery lines.  You can really tell how much of Jeni Baker's heart went into her third collection, Dreamin' Vintage.

Leah Duncan's Meadow (also for Art Gallery) is a sophisticated palette of florals and sketchy prints, and the most amazing green.

Botanics by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman is stunning.  If you are a fan of Architextures, you are going to be blown away.

Anna Maria Horner fans will not be disappointed with Dowry, her newest line for Free Spirit.  Here you will find that famous saturated color in an eclectic mix of cool florals and a really great pixel-ish print.

Monaluna continues to deliver fresh new prints in their range of organic fabric.  Meadow warmly brings together sweet critters and vibrant colors.  I predict that the birch print will be a big hit.  Can you picture that as a unique, stripey binding?

Amy Butler's Hapi for Rowan is everything you expect from Amy, and then some.  Bold color and large scale prints dominate, while supplementary prints offer unique versatility.

Cloud 9 has brought together such a talented group, including Rae Hoekstra with her line Lotus Pond.  The snail, I die!

Also from Cloud 9, Leslie Shrewing gives us Palos Verdes.  No doubt we will be seeing these watercolor reminiscent voiles on a lot of garments this spring.

Vanessa Christensen has done it again with Color Me Happy for Moda.  Along with her unique and versatile ombre effect fabrics, Vanessa has given us some great dotty prints in delightful colors, which are sure to become stash building staples.

And lastly, but surely not least, Bonnie and Camille's April Showers for Moda brings that vintagey sweet style they do best, this time with these adorable umbrellas.  Can you say fussy cut?  And would it be a Bonnie and Camille line without those fantastic stripes and dots?

So there you have it, just a small sampling of the fabric fun that these talented designers have worked so hard on for all of us.  Which ones inspire you the most?  What projects come to mind?

  7. I agree that Friedlander's new line has some great textures. I'm more interested in Butler's line than I normally am. Will want to see more of it! Rae's line is lovely. Of course... AMH.
