Weekend Sewing

I was going to start this post by saying I didn't get a whole lot of time in for sewing projects this past weekend, but as I added photos, I realized that would be a lie.  Let's get down to business, shall we?

This pile of hexie goodness will morph into an Open Wide Pouch (tutorial courtesy of Anna at Noodlehead).  I have some pretty grand plans with this bad boy.  I'd like to add a pocket on the inside to hold my little snips and a matching needlebook and a little tiny pincushion.  But first I need to survive pouch construction.  Anna makes it look easy, so it's promising!

This guy is the second of the two commissioned baby blankets I started working on last week.  He's all quilted and currently getting some binding.

A wee little sketch of a mini art quilt that has been floating around in my head.  I'm happy that it's on paper now.  Gotta work out the specifics, and then it's go-time!

This last photo is the UFO quilt I pulled out to finish and donate as a part of Swim, Bike, Quilt's 100 Quilts For Kids.  Click the link or the button below for more details!  The top was pieced, but I got it cleaned up and trimmed down, the backing cut, and the binding prepared.  Now it's ready for quilting and binding.

I also got in a little more retail therapy.  A fat quarter bundle of FMF, some Amy Butler Lark, a few colors of chunky #5 perle cotton (I adore the chunk!) and some books!  Aneela Hoey's Little Stitches and Rashida Coleman-Hale's Zakka Style.

Most of my sewing this weekend wasn't in front of the machine and I didn't pull off any finishes, so it felt like I didn't do much.  But seeing it all laid out here is proof that I did.  I shall give myself a pat on the back.

What about you?  Did you get anything done?  Or just worked on?  I'd love to see it - link in the comments!
