Boo! Started (to finish) my Halloween Quilt.

Halloween Border Detail by doodledodesigns
Halloween is my most favorite holiday. I just LOVE candy. And costumes. And the smell in the air. And pumpkins. And the excitement when the kids see the giant handfuls of candy I give them after they yell "Trick or Treat!". This year we may even do full size candy bars!

I'm not into the "horror" part of Halloween though. I like the fun stuff, not the scary stuff. That's why I fell in love with this fabric from Riley Blake. It's called Boo To You, and I think it's a pretty old line. I bought a bundle at the Houston International Quilt Festival TWO years ago. I think I started cutting it last year. This year I went ahead and started piecing it.

The main part is patchwork squares (originally 5.5" - 5" sewn in). I used a scrap to get these cute little guys cut out (after ironing on some fusible applique stuff), and then started to apply them to the borders (which will be 5" of white Kona).

I can't wait until this is finished, because once it is, I may just start decorating for Halloween!

Do you have a favorite Halloween sewing or craft project? Link it in the comments, I'd love to see it!
