But I used clearance rack fabric so after beating my head about how to alter it, I just gave it away to someone it would fit. My 2nd version I made 2 sizes smaller than the measurements suggested and it was a great fit. Good luck with your alterations!aprilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03371954631354801692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7589061946117615998.post-15588269088133246332013-01-30T09:33:19.281-06:002013-01-30T09:33:19.281-06:00I absolutely love that skirt! After all, you can pin what seems right before cutting, try it on and test it!Rachel at Stitched in Colorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08187626491695441387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7589061946117615998.post-9882802088735449852013-01-27T09:12:13.940-06:002013-01-27T09:12:13.940-06:00What a cute skirt and yes the print is gorgeous. If you don't want to take the skirt apart to remedy the waistband try adding elastic either to the inside of the band at the back or at both sides. Depending on how much too big the band is it may not show too bad. Otherwise, yep, you'll have to take the band off, adjust the size, gather the skirt a little more and then stitch the band backsew.darn.quilthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13391061584764523752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7589061946117615998.post-60024707872027075362013-01-25T03:57:01.765-06:002013-01-25T03:57:01.765-06:00I would remove the band as well. They don't have to fit right...

I think if it were me, I'd remove the waistband, make it the right size, then just gather the skirt in a bit more and stitch away.

It's doesn't look so big that you couldn't make up the difference with a few extra gathers. Just my opinion!
